Prashant's kind appreciation of the discourses occurring here notwithstanding, the underlying comparisons of 'philosophies'/'theosophies', principally the Judeo/Christian vs. Quranic adherents, with peripheral acknowledgements to Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikh and others, the primary issue has been what has driven the ideologies that seek to control the Middle East, thereby in a quest of vicarious dominance of world politics (for which sector of the world-either European, Asian or new world Western Hemisphere has not chimed in or invested in the Middle East for ostensible returns and gains) and eventually a globally held mastery of satrapies allegiant to one ideology or political governance. Only one problem (only one, we say?); only one is set to be the remaining one after humanity is dragged through the hatred of mankind by its own self destructive search for ambitions of pride.
Even though Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikh and others (essentially the historical religions of the ancients like the Medo-Persian-Babylonian now consigned to the annals of former empires) are still recognized for their continuing influences on certain modern populations, it is the imperious designs of Islam through the Quran as translated and imposed on these former religious influences that is seen as the base argument for 'ummah' control; that any lesser implications of such designs are argued away by more aggressive followers which have pledged submission to and enforcement of the Quranic imperatives which appear here in debate as cautionary tales. The Quran cannot be dismissed as a force on societies for the evidence is that there is a strong following that will, if not countered in truth, be imposed on all, even those that seek its moderation.
Now, those who are aware of this observer's view on such things know that the Hebrew Holy Script remains the true narrative in the destiny of Israel, indeed the world as it is written. The Quran was shown to be a alternative guiding force in the development of the Middle East and the invaded parts of the eastern and European empires; but it never reached beyond those confines; and there is a reason why. The reason also influences these modern times of the resurgent attempts to impose shar'ia in 'ummah' fashion; it will happen only if truth does not prevail.
And that's the final point. It all comes down to Israel: which destiny will Israel be found to obey; and do not let the current Israeli politics fool the observer. Those issues were addressed when Abraham was promised the land though Isaac and prophesied through Isaiah, Jeremiah and the others. The Quran tried to take that away; but it will never be truly successful. The Holy One of Israel will see to that.
